Wait times are extremely short at Avecina. It’s less time that you would be spending at an ER.

What is different from an ER and Avecina Medical urgent care?

An ER will take care of serious/life threatening injuries. At Avecina Medical, we can assist with things like burns, lacerations, sprains, fractures, and other non-life-threatening injuries.

Absolutely! We do laceration repair and suture less laceration repair.

What are your hours, and are you open daily?

Yes, open seven days. Hours are 8 am–8 pm Monday through Friday, and 8 am–5 pm Saturday and Sunday. Many locations share this schedule, making after-work and weekend visits easy for families across Northeast Florida. Details appear on location pages.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?

No appointment needed, just walk in. Clinics are open seven days a week with extended hours, and you can also reserve a spot online through the “Book Your Visit” link powered by Solv for added convenience, if desired.

We accept most major plans, including AARP/UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Ambetter, Amerigroup, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, Medicaid (Florida), Medicare, PHCS/MultiPlan, TriCare, and UnitedHealthcare/UMR. Check your specific plan or call your nearest clinic before visiting.

When should I choose urgent care versus the ER?

Choose urgent care for non-life-threatening needs such as burns, lacerations, sprains, and fractures. Emergency rooms treat serious or life-threatening injuries and conditions. If you suspect stroke symptoms, severe chest pain, or trauma, call us.

How fast are COVID-19 test results available?
answer

Rapid antigen results are usually ready within 2–4 hours. Rapid RT-PCR testing is also available with results in 3–4 hours; note that rapid RT-PCR is self-pay only, while standard insurance-billed RT-PCR may take 5–7 days.

Do your clinics have on-site X-rays and lab testing?
answer

Yes. Every location offers on-site X-rays. Clinics also perform standard in-house tests such as rapid strep, influenza A/B, drug screening, urine pregnancy, and urinalysis, supporting quicker diagnoses and treatment decisions during a single visit for patients.
